Independent & Local Coffee Shops

The range of independent coffee shops is endless, each coffee shop brining it’s own unique style to Enniskillen. Enniskillen’s coffee scene caters to all tastes and preferences and what sets Enniskillen’s coffee shops apart is the genuine warmth and welcoming nature of the people.

Folk Espresso and Boulangerie

The independent coffee shops start with the award winning Folk coffee shop, Expresso and Boulangerie which has been in Enniskillen for 3 and half years. The café is run by Michael, who started the business to offer “his passion for good coffee, bread and croissants to the lovely folk of Enniskillen”. Michael has 20 years of experience in the industry as, an award-winning chef, barista, baker and hospitality operator.

“We are about making the best quality products available to the local market, and serving our local community first. We also aim to provide an environment where good folk can come and congregate. Of course if it wasn’t for the support of local folk, we would have no purpose!”

Folk is open 9-4pm Monday to Friday and 10 – 4 Saturday and Sunday.

Rebecca’s Coffee Shop – The Buttermarket

Opened in 1990, Rebecca’s coffee shop was passed over from mother to daughter. Sharron the current owner did a business degree at university and after working in Dublin for 6 years she decided to return to Enniskillen.

Rebecca’s coffee shop is open 8:30 – 5pm (Monday – Saturday).

The Buttermarket Enniskillen, is made up of 16 Studios, Galleries, Shops and Coffee Shop in the Courtyard. The Buttermarket is one of Ireland’s premier craft centres, located in the heart of Enniskillen.

The early 19th century Buttermarket buildings have been beautifully restored, and house such diverse crafts as pottery, ceramics, handmade jewellery, textiles, picture framing and original art.

Therefore, this creates a very unique location for Rebecca’s Coffee Shop. Rebecca’s coffee shop does a range of products, from breakfasts, coffee to lunch and desserts. You can sit inside or else sit outside and enjoy the views of the courtyard. Enjoy homemade baking and great customer care.

Lydia’s Bakery

Lydia’s Bakery is located at the diamond in the centre of Enniskillen. The family run bakery has been located in Enniskillen for three years, first opening during the pandemic in 2020. However, it all started with a stall located at the Diamond. Lydia now specialises in bespoke cake design, brownies, cupcakes and more baked goods!

Lydia’s is open Tuesday – Saturday 8:30 – 4pm and Sunday 10 – 3pm.

“I started the business to provide quality services of both hospitality and baked goods. My mum taught me everything, she shaped my baking skills which has been so important in developing the bakery.”

The Bees Knees

The Bees Knees, located on Town Hall street is all about producing quality delicious food using local ingredients and suppliers. From high quality breakfasts to lunch breaks the Bees Knees has you covered. The take away hatch at the side of The Bees Knees is perfect to grab a coffee and take down to the jetty or picnic benches close by overlooking Lough Erne.

Opening Hours:

Monday 8:30 – 5pm, closed Tuesday, Wednesday – Saturday 8:30 – 5pm, Sunday 10 – 4pm.

The Toastery

One of the newest coffee shops in Enniskillen is the Toastery, which opened in February 2022. The Toastery serve Breakfast, Brunch/ Lunch. Artisan toasties are the main offering however, they also have homemade savoury pastries, granola bowls, salads, soups and sweets to compliment the speciality coffee! Passionate about local products the Toastery make the toasties using Joe the Baker bread, a very popular sourdough that is supplied across the island town.

Opening hours: Monday – Saturday 8-5pm


“We have wanted to do this for quite some time now, we wanted to be our own bosses and have our own place and as soon as we came back from travelling it hit home that we wanted to do this sooner rather than later so here we are.

We wanted to bring something a bit different in terms of a city vibe; minimal look, good music and most importantly quality, locally sourced food served with a smile and that extra touch of hospitality excellence. We have over 14 years of experience including overseas to which we have brought to our venture.”

The Jolly Sandwich

The Jolly Sandwich has been based in Enniskillen since 1999. The coffee shop serves a large selection of homemade breakfast, brunch, afternoon tea and delicious homemade bakes and coffee. The Jolly Sandwich has both indoor and outdoor seating and has a great view of Enniskillen Chapel.

“The Jolly Sandwhich is a family run business, that has been passed down generations, a warm welcome awaits you all!”

Opening Hours: Tuesday – Saturday 9am – 3pm, 8am – 3pm takeaway.

White Rabbit

Another new coffee shop to Enniskillen is the White Rabbit, launched in September 2022, located on Belmore Street.

“White Rabbit is a small independent coffee house, dedicated to dispensing the best barista prepared coffee in Enniskillen. Our core business is ‘Great Coffee to Go’, but we also provide delicious pastries, traybakes, brownies and a range of fresh sandwiches and wraps daily. Enniskillen is a mecca for food and drink experiences; we love being part of the variety of offerings available.”


Opening hours: Mon-Fri – 8am-4pm, Sat-Sun – 10am-5pm

Type of food: Barista Prepared Coffee, Speciality Teas, Signature Hot Chocolate, Smoothies, Frappes. Award winning Brownies and Traybakes (LillyAnnes). Gourmet Sandwiches and Wraps. 

The Ardhowen is situated on a beautiful panoramic lakeside setting on the outskirts of Enniskillen. The theatre offers a year round programme, also located in the Ardhowen is The Cake House. The Bakery provides coffee, cakes, traybakes, desserts and cupcakes for all occasions.

Jenny’s coffee shop is located just off the main street in Enniskillen. Opened in 2009, it was opened as a bakery in 2005 and then expanded into the coffee house. Serving sandwiches, wraps, soup and bakery items. Open 9 – 3 Monday – Saturday.

Snackz Coffee Shop is located at the Diamond in Enniskillen. Serving freshly cooked all day breakfasts made to order in homely surroundings, also serving lunches & desserts.

Coffee Chains

Enniskillen also has a great range of coffee chains and well known cafe brands that have been brought to Enniskillen.

Cafe Mauds

Cafe Mauds is located opposite the shopping centre in Enniskillen. Serving great ice-cream, coffee, breakfast and lunch! Open 7 days a week from 10 – 7pm Monday to Friday and Sunday 11 – 7pm.

Caffe Nero

Caffe Nero was founded around 20 years ago, to the founder Gerry Ford. Caffe Nero started with simply trying to make a few local independent coffee houses work. And they did! The popular chain is located on the main street in Enniskillen.

Erneside Shopping Centre Coffee Shops

Erneside Shopping Centre is home to high street brands and also great coffee shops!

Erneside Shopping Centre offers 5 cafes to cater to every visitor’s needs. With 600+ parking spaces and free wifi throughout, it ensures a stress-free experience. Access is convenient with a footbridge to the nearby town centre and a boat jetty with 32 moorings.

Costa Coffee

Costa Coffee is located in the shopping centre with great seating to take in the atmosphere.

Ground Coffee

Ground Coffee shop is located upstairs in the Next store, with access via stairs or lift that goes up to the coffee shop.

T2 Coffee & Sandwich Bar

T2 Coffee and Sandwich Bar is the perfect place to grab lunch during a busy shopping day. They have a great range of lunches, something to suit everyone.

M&S Coffee Shop

Also located in the shopping centre is the M&S coffee shop. They provide brunches to sweet treats and barista-made hot drinks, you’ll find a tempting range of food and drink in the M&S Cafe.
